About the Role
Collecting recycling and general waste material safely and efficiently at designated locations is a critical part of Wasteplan’s operations. As a Driver, you will be responsible for loading and unloading goods from vehicles, ensuring all materials are handled with care and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading goods from vehicles
- Keeping the vehicle safe and clean
- Refueling and cleaning vehicles
- Using navigation apps to determine the best route
- Mapping out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip
- Performing daily equipment checks
- Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines
- Inspecting trucks and completing daily vehicle checklist before departing the yard
- Driving safely and following all laws and rules of driving to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
- Assisting Runners by loading and off-loading material at collection points
- Counting all bags loaded on vehicle
- Collecting, maintaining, and organizing all paperwork and delivering it to the proper personnel at the end of each collection
- Reporting and documenting any accidents or vehicle issues to the Supervisor
- Adhering to all reasonable instructions given by the Supervisor
- Adhering to OHS ACT legislation
- Adhering to site regulations
- Keeping driver’s license up to date
Requirements
- Matric / grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 1 – 2 years working experience in a similar role
- Must have a valid Code 10 driver’s license and a valid PDP
- Clean driving record
- Forklift license
