About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Tool and Jig Maker to join our team in Paarl. As a key member of our production line, you will be responsible for fabricating and manufacturing high-quality steel components using manual machining equipment and CNC machines. With 5 years of experience in a steel fabrication or steel works manufacturing environment, you possess the technical expertise and problem-solving skills required to excel in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and manufacture steel components using manual machining equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders, drilling machines)
- Operate CNC machines to produce complex parts with high accuracy
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to ensure compliance with customer requirements
- Conduct quality control checks on finished products to meet strict safety standards
- Collaborate with production team members to optimize workflow and improve efficiency
Requirements
- Trade Test as a Toolmaker / Jig and Die Maker
- 5 years of experience in a steel fabrication or steel works manufacturing environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Hands-on experience with manual machining equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders, drilling machines)
- Solid understanding of steel materials, tolerances, and fabrication processes
