About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Enrolled Nurse Assistant to join our team in Port Elizabeth. As a key member of our multidisciplinary care team, you will work closely with patients and their families to provide high-quality care in the comfort of their homes or facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide basic care and support to patients, including washing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and assisting with personal hygiene
- Administer medications under supervision of registered nurses or family members
- Document patient conditions and progress
- Monitor vital signs and record changes
- Perform basic wound care and manage feeds for tracheostomy babies using a feeding pump
- Assess sleep routines of patients and record in the daily report, adjusting care plans as needed with registered nurse input
- Manage catheter care (indwelling, supra pubic, intermittent) and prevent pressure sores in bedridden patients
Requirements
- Strong understanding of treatment plans set out by other team members (e.g. doctors, NSMs, physiotherapists)
- Good communication skills with supervisors, colleagues, patients, and family members
- Knowledge of dealing with emergency situations in home care settings
- Knowledge of Geriatric Care, Paediatric Care, Dementia Care, Post Stroke Care, Ventilation Care, and Catheter care (indwelling, supra pubic, intermittent)
- Prevention of infection in all patients
Qualifications
Level and Accreditation Diploma as a qualified Enrolled Nurse
