About the Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Technician to join our team in Port Elizabeth. As a key member of our distribution company, you will be responsible for providing technical support to customers and assisting with the day-to-day operations of our warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect returned units for visible damage
- Diagnose faults on customer-returned units
- Repair faulty units or replace them with the same or upgraded models if required
- Assemble PCs, including cable management, OS installation, and testing
- Run diagnostics on completed PC builds and provide reports
- Perform laptop upgrades, including RAM and SSD installations
- Clone drives and perform backups
- Conduct quality control checks on stock received at the warehouse
- Assist with deliveries, collections, and setup of hardware when required
- Carry out office hardware upgrades and installations
- Assist the network administrator with local IT support tasks
- Advise customers and the sales team on suitable upgrades and solutions
- Test hardware compatibility to prevent customer issues
- Provide telephonic technical support for PCs and printers
Requirements
- At least two years’ experience working as an IT Technician
- Experience in the distribution industry is highly advantageous
- IT Qualification is essential
- Valid driver’s license required for deliveries with Company vehicle when required
