About the Role
Sagen Advisory is seeking a Trainee Accountant to join our team in Stellenbosch. As a trainee accountant, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in accounting and finance under the guidance of our experienced directors who are chartered accountants and registered auditors with the Independent Regulatory Board of Auditors.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce client reports.
- Perform accounting work.
- Administrative duties.
- Full bookkeeping and accounting function up to trial balance, including debtors, creditors, bank, petty cash, journals, etc.
- Handling of VAT and PAYE reviews.
- Invoicing and debtors collection.
- IRP5 calculations, reconciliations and submissions.
- Liaison with clients.
- Maintenance of SARS accounts.
- PAYE/UIF/SDL calculations and EMP201 submissions.
- Registration and deregistration for Income Tax, PAYE, VAT and Import and Export licenses.
- Tax clearance applications.
- UIF registration and administration.
- VAT calculations and VAT201 submissions.
- WCA registrations, submission of returns and arranging letters of good standing.
Requirements
- BAccounting, BCom Accounting, BCom Management Accounting, BCom Financial Accounting, or equivalent.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Drivers license and own transport.
Qualifications
No formal education/certifications are required for this role. However, applicants must have completed a Finance and Accounting degree at an accredited institution as part of their training contract with CIMA or SAIPA.
