About the Role
Industrial Bakeware is seeking a dynamic Technical Sales Engineer to join our team. As a technically minded sales professional with a passion for the baking industry, you will combine sales expertise, technical knowledge, and project management to deliver exceptional customer service, drive business growth, and maintain long-term client partnerships across South Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key bakery clients.
- Conduct site visits and audits to identify customer needs and growth opportunities.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to after-sales support.
- Collaborate with the Draught Estimator to ensure accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Achieve monthly and annual sales and margin targets.
- Conduct market analysis and report on trends, competitors, and account performance.
Requirements
- National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
- 35 years experience in technical sales, production, or engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment (baking industry experience advantageous).
- Proven track record in business development and account management.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
