About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join our team in Pretoria, South Africa. As a permanent position, you will play a critical role in manufacturing, repairing, and maintaining precision tools and dies used in various production processes. Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture new tooling according to engineering drawings and specifications
- Repair and maintain press tools, moulds, and dies
- Perform tool modifications and improvements to increase productivity
- Operate manual and CNC machines (milling, turning, surface grinding, EDM, etc.)
- Conduct fault finding and root cause analysis on tooling failures
- Ensure tooling meets quality and tolerance requirements
- Assist with tool try-outs and production start-ups
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Work closely with production and engineering departments
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret detailed technical drawings
- Knowledge of press tools, progressive dies, and mould tooling
- Understanding of tolerances, fits, and materials
- Skilled in precision measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers, height gauges)
- Experience with tool steels and heat treatment processes
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail

- Qualified Toolmaker or equivalent experience
