About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Nursing Services Manager to lead our nursing team in Mbombela (Nelspruit). The successful candidate will be responsible for driving quality of care, patient experience, and clinical outcomes, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and enhance customer service and quality assurance systems to ensure continuous quality improvement
- Ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based nursing care aligned with best practice standards
- Monitor and improve patient experience and clinical outcomes
- Clinical Governance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality, Risk and Infection Control standards
- Oversee implementation and monitoring of infection prevention and control programmes
- Administer, review and update all nursing policies, procedures and protocols
- Implement and manage the nursing budget, including monitoring of expenditure and cost containment initiatives
- Conduct cost analysis and implement corrective actions for budget deviations
- Manage and control stock usage and prevent losses across all units
- Human Resource Management: Manage and optimise staffing levels based on acuity and bed occupancy
- Oversee recruitment, retention and development of nursing staff
- Ensure appropriate utilisation and control of agency staff
- Promote staff training, development and performance management
- Operational Management: Provide leadership in planning, organising and coordinating nursing services
- Generate, compile and submit operational and statutory reports
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain effective relationships within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- Post-basic qualification in Nursing Management or equivalent (advantageous/required depending on policy)
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years nursing experience, with at least 23 years in a management role
