About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Process Technician to join our team at the Wastewater Treatment Works. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective management and supervision of the plant, with a focus on monitoring and control to meet contractual obligations. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with effective management and supervision of the Wastewater Treatment Works
- Liaise with Plant Management to implement guidelines on operational sequences and interpretation of operational procedures/instructions
- Ensure liquid and solids handling processes are working effectively and efficiently, meeting operational standards at budgeted costs
- Conduct daily visual inspections to establish functionality levels of unit processes and components
- Monitor wastewater analysis to determine plant performance (e.g. COD, ammonia, etc.) and make necessary changes if required
- Analyze and interpret progress reports, efficiency indications, and performance results to identify areas for investigation or adjustments
- Keep detailed records of all operational activities, incidents, and special procedures/instructions
- Update procedural records and registers of investigations, inspections, plant, and system operational performance
- Check recorded numerical readings from metering devices (e.g. flow meters, etc.)
- Prepare and forward operational performance reports to Plant Management
- Investigate opportunities to improve operations and minimize losses through optimization, changes in chemical and material application, and process improvements initiatives
- Manage and provide on-the-job training to team members
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Chemical Engineering or relevant equivalent qualification
- Registered as DWS Class V Process Controller
- At least 6 years’ relevant operating experience in wastewater treatment and MBR plant operations, with at least 2 years at a supervisory level
- Proven experience in water/wastewater treatment environment, integrated complex SCADA systems, trouble-shooting, and plant process optimization
- Valid code B/EB driver’s license
