About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Security Analyst to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for monitoring and responding to security alerts and incidents using Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM/SOAR). You will also manage various security platforms, including Microsoft Defender and Fortinet solutions, to ensure the secure and monitored Microsoft Azure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and incidents using Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM/SOAR)
- Manage Microsoft Defender security platforms (Endpoint, Identity, Cloud Apps, and Office 365) and investigate threats using Defender XDR
- Secure and monitor Microsoft Azure environments, implementing controls such as RBAC, Conditional Access, and MFA
- Manage Fortinet security solutions, including FortiGate firewalls, and investigate suspicious network activity
- Develop and maintain incident response playbooks and security automation workflows
- Support vulnerability management and remediation in collaboration with IT teams
- Assist with data protection and compliance initiatives using Microsoft Purview and security best practices
- Contribute to continuous security improvement through collaboration, policy development, and threat awareness
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in a Security Analyst / SOC / Cybersecurity role
- Relevant degree or diploma in IT or similar field
- Certifications: Security Operations Analyst Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate, and Information Protection Administrator
- Experience securing Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
- Incident response and threat investigation experience
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel (Azure Sentinel), Microsoft Defender security suite, Microsoft Azure (IAM, Networking, logging, security controls)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Purview (DLP, Information Protection, Compliance Manager)
