About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Maintenance Technician to join our team at PAR EXCELLENCE in Port Elizabeth. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment and facilities. With a strong background in electrical and mechanical maintenance, you will play a critical role in maintaining high-quality products and preventing downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production, diagnose problems, replace/repair parts, test/make adjustments using hand/power tools/electric meters/material handling equipment.
- Perform regular scheduled preventive maintenance repairs of production machines/equipment, including mechanical/electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic/troubleshooting and plant facilities, such as painting/plumbing/carpentry.
- Read/interpret equipment manuals/work orders/perform maintenance/service/simple Machinist duties/responsibilities.
- Ensure accurate inventory/stock counts are maintained, anticipate equipment/part/supply requirements, assist with ordering of required stock, verify receipt thereof.
- Conduct quality control of all products (Production) and workmanship (Production/Technical), detect faulty operations/defective material, understand conform to the organogram, and report defects/any unusual situations to correct senior.
Requirements
- Tech Gr12/N3 Eng Studies
- 5 years electrical/mechanical maintenance experience in a food/meat process/packing factory, including hygiene/HMS/HACCP/GMP/temp. control/cold chain/product specs/food regulations/customer guidelines/relations.
- Full working/cleaning knowledge of all equipment used and operational/proDUCTION systems.
