About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lodge Manager or Lodge Management couple to lead operations at our upmarket lodge in Botswana. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of hospitality expertise, operational, maintenance, and leadership skills to ensure exceptional guest experiences while maintaining our high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the lodge, including Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) services.
  • Oversee routine maintenance and repairs, with a focus on solar power systems.
  • Develop and implement financial plans, manage budgets, and control costs to drive profitability.
  • Lead and develop a diverse team, including guides and operational staff, through talent development and creating a positive work environment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local communities, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure long-term sustainability and cooperation.

Requirements

  • Citizenship: Botswana citizens or those with residency status are advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in an upmarket lodge environment, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • Operational Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) operations, including strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Maintenance Skills: Strong technical knowledge in general maintenance, including plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Expertise in solar power systems is essential.
  • Financial Management: Exceptional financial acumen with proven experience in budget management, financial planning, and cost control.

Qualifications

A relevant tertiary qualification in hospitality, business management, or a related field.
