About the Role
As a Forklift Driver at Kethelo Group in East London, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. You will work closely with our team to maintain a safe and organized working environment, adhering to our quality control standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that the forklift is in good working condition by completing the checklist before operating the machine (FMX).
- Report damages or faults to the Forklift to Warehouse Manager.
- Ensure correct stock is picked and loaded by checking quantity, quality, description, manufacturing date and best before date.
- Count and record the number of pallets loaded.
- Ensure pallets at the pallet area are sorted by colour code and in a safe manner (5S).
- Loads of finished goods, raw materials, and packaging.
- Offloading of delivery trucks, checking paperwork vs stock on truck, using food’s connect device to record material and batch numbers.
- Clear understanding of FIFO, FEFO, binning, and 5S.
- Transfers finished goods to allocated space in warehouse.
- Moves product to correct allocation during change overs.
- Transfers products to bays and checks that they are allocated to correct bays.
- Removes damaged boxes and repacks pallet.
Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills for reporting damages or faults.
- Basic math skills for counting and recording pallets loaded.
- Physical stamina for operating the forklift and lifting heavy loads.
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Valid Forklift Operator’s License (FMX).
- Matric certificate or equivalent.
