About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Housekeeper to join our team at our beautiful resort in Knysna. This role supports the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing the housekeeping department and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, and guest satisfaction throughout the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Housekeeper in managing daily housekeeping operations.
- Supervise housekeeping staff and ensure cleaning standards are consistently maintained.
- Conduct room and public area inspections to ensure quality and brand standards are met.
- Assist with staff scheduling, training, and performance monitoring.
- Monitor housekeeping supplies, linen, and equipment, ensuring proper stock control.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Address guest requests or concerns promptly and professionally.
Requirements
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a housekeeping role within a hotel or resort, with supervisory experience advantageous. Strong leadership and organisational skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays. Knowledge of housekeeping procedures and hospitality standards.
