Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health & Safety Officer to join our manufacturing group, managing Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance across multiple factories and offices. This is a hands-on role for an individual passionate about creating and maintaining a safe, compliant, and health-conscious workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor Health, Safety & Environmental policies across all sites.
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and compliance audits.
- Investigate incidents and coordinate corrective actions.
- Plan and facilitate monthly and quarterly Health & Safety meetings.
- Conduct safety inductions, training, and emergency drills.
- Oversee PPE compliance and equipment inspections.
- Manage environmental compliance, including monthly hazardous waste reporting to the City of Cape Town.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly safety performance reports.
Requirements
- National Diploma in Safety Management / Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
- SAMTRAC / NEBOSH certification (advantageous).
- Minimum 35 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of OHSA, COID Act, environmental legislation, and hazardous waste management.
- Strong communication, investigation, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work across multiple sites.
