About the Role

The Senior FICA Compliance Administrator will play a crucial role in ensuring the company’s compliance with the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FIC Act) and other relevant regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to join our team and contribute their expertise in FICA compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Senior Compliance team to ensure compliance with FICA and encourage compliance from others within the firm.
  • Perform thorough Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) checks on new and existing clients.
  • Screen for adverse media, sanctions, and political exposure.
  • Verify the accuracy of documents uploaded for verification in accordance with their Risk Management Compliance Policy (RMCP).
  • Contribute to RMCP governance and assist with reviewing and updating internal policies and practical guides.
  • Capture and update information on internal systems regularly and accurately.
  • Train staff on client onboarding and FICA compliance procedures.
  • Store key compliance-related documents, including risk assessments, reports, and training logs for audit or inspection purposes.
  • Provide compliance guidance and advice and ensure a culture of compliance through training and awareness.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and attend FIC webinars/training.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) essential.
  • Degree or Diploma in Law, Compliance or Risk Management is a strong advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years corporate experience.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years exposure in FICA related functions (law firm experience is advantageous).
  • Experience with nCino (formerly DocFox) will be advantageous.
