Site Health & Safety Officer – Construction industry, Western Cape
Start Immediately!
R30 000 – R40 000 Per Month Negotiable on qualification and experience
Reputable Construction firm is offering the following opportunity which will give you the exposure you desiring in terms of getting your Health & Safety career within the construction arena off the ground!
One would describe you as a reliable, self-manged, punctual, diligent, enthusiastic, organised and positive individual who takes direction well and also has the ability to manage others.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Manage all H&S aspect.
- Manage site specific safety reps.
- Oversee the following:
- Ensure all inductions are complete.
- Maintain the perimeter hoarding and look of the site,
- Daily site safety inspections,
- Updating safety registers,
- Holding tool box talk meetings with Labour teams,
- Produce month safety reports,
- Produce any fines to sub-contractors not working safely,
- Inspect all PPE (personal protective equipment)
- Have a first aid course,
- Be the first aider on site,
- Manage incidents and emergency procedures,
Qualification and or Experience:
- Relevant Degree in Health and Safety studies or related studies (SAMTRAC, NEBOSCH, etc.)
- Must be a registered Safety Officer with the SACPCMP
- 3- 5 years relevant experience gained within the construction arena!
- Knowledge of the recent H&S legislation
- Driver’s license and own vehicle essential
