About the Role
A leading FMCG wholesale and food distribution company in Cape Town is seeking an experienced National B2B Sales Manager to drive revenue growth, profitability, and long-term customer partnerships across the country. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading regional sales teams and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the national B2B sales strategy aligned with company growth objectives
- Drive national revenue, margin, and customer growth targets
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and annual sales planning processes
- Oversee pricing strategies, discount structures, and contract negotiations
- Manage and grow national key accounts while identifying new business opportunities
- Lead, coach, and develop regional sales teams to ensure consistent performance
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers
- Ensure effective route-to-market strategies and territory coverage
- Collaborate with internal departments including supply chain, procurement, logistics, and finance
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to inform strategy
- Ensure accurate reporting, dashboards, and performance tracking
- Maintain compliance with contracts, pricing policies, and governance standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or related field (advantageous)
- 710 years senior sales experience, with at least 5 years in B2B or wholesale/foodservice sales
- Proven experience leading national or regional sales teams
- Strong experience managing key accounts and large sales portfolios
- Background in FMCG, wholesale, or food distribution
- Strong financial acumen with understanding of margins, pricing, and forecasting
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, CRM systems, and reporting tools
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills
