Job Description

Safari JOBS is searching for a dynamic and experienced Front of House Manager to join a busy, 5 star safari lodge located within the Greater Kruger region of Mpumalanga. This role is ideally suited to a confident, guest-focused hospitality professional with Front of House experience and a passion for delivering exceptional service. The successful candidate will be well-presented, highly organised, and comfortable engaging with a predominantly international guest clientele. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of figures and hospitality related administration are essential. The Front of House Manager will play a key role within the lodge, overseeing guest experience from arrival to departure, supporting daily operations, and maintaining the highest standards of service, professionalism, and efficiency in a fast-paced luxury safari environment. ? Clear criminal record; Excellent employment track record – references will be checked; Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal; Matric certificate; Valid driver’s licence (); Previous front of house experience; Excellent administrative skills; Excellent computer skills using various Microsoft packages – word and excel and outlook; Financial mindset; People / Hosting skills; : Worked in a lodge environment previously; Experience with Res Request; Own transport A strong work ethic with a hands-on, proactive approach to daily operations; The ideal candidate is honest, reliable, and an effective communicator, with the ability to multitask and maintain a high level of attention to detail; Self-motivated, fit, and energetic, with a confident, people-centric manner and strong interpersonal skills; A flexible team player who is willing to assist across departments as required and who demonstrates initiative and creative problem-solving abilities; Demonstrates flexibility with working hours and a strong commitment to operational excellence; Of sober habits and a non-smoker, with the resilience to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced lodge environment Any other ad hoc duties reasonably associated with the role Daily front of house duties – office admin related work, check in and out of guests etc; Secondary – Hosting of Guests in the evening, on a rotational basis, oversee of housekeeping & allocation of tasks, room checks, Curio shop sales and stocks, monthly stock takes of housekeeping and curio departments, Assistance in helping with bush events such as drinks set up etc; Confidently communicate telephonically and with email, also when interacting with guests at the lodge. / / Gross monthly salary: NEG.
