About the Role
The Workforce Group Ltd is seeking a skilled Packing Machine Operator to join our client’s team in Montague Gardens, Cape Town. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining packing machines to ensure efficient and high-quality production. With immediate start required, we are looking for a motivated individual with excellent technical skills and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate machine (settings) meet required outputs
- Operate the machine do required adjustments to make sure machine is running on correct settings and reaching scheduled output target set for that particular machine.
- Do first line maintenance strip clean lubricate and reassemble machine.
- Ensure general area and machine is clean at all times and housekeeping is adhered to at all times.
- Metal tests to be done and recorded at start of every shift and changeover of every product and all correct information documented.
- Follow the correct corrective action measures that are in place when there is a metal failure.
- Line clearance Make sure that line clearance is done according to procedure after every product change over making sure machine is free of any previous products ingredients, all labels and bags are cleared from the line of previous product and that the machine and line is ready for next product.
- Start-up checks Check that machine is in good working order, the machine is clean, do metal test as required check machine is set correctly for product being produced.
- Record downtime All down time to be correctly recorded on sheets provided make sure all break downs and down time is reported to packing supervisor and that job cards are raised be present when maintenance is working on the machine so it can be tasted correctly and signed off.
- E HACCP Make sure E.HACCP is not only filled in correctly on the computed but that all HACCP procedures are being followed and correct equipment utilised for cleaning to prevent any contamination or risk of customer complaints. Report and HACCP related issue to the packing supervisor to make sure the corrective action is taken.
Requirements
- Physically able with good numeric skills and technically inclined
- Knowledge and experience in Packing machine operation and some technical experience
Qualifications
- Preferably Matric
- Preferably NQF4 or equivalent
- Experience in a similar role in FMCG (not specified)
