About the Role
The Payroll Officer position is responsible for full payroll processing, allocated to him/her by the department manager and representing Unique Personnel Ltd’s brand in a professional manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full end-to-end payroll processing for salaried and wage staff.
- Engage with 3rd parties on payroll deductions.
- Investigate and resolve payroll issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure accuracy and that all processes are streamlined and effective.
- Adapt effective control and ensure a robust framework is in place to manage risk and eliminate errors.
- Assist with the calculating and reporting of Sales Commission, using internal software.
- Prepare, submit, and request payment for statutory reporting, EMP 201, UIF declaration, company schedules.
- Ensure that Employee Benefit schedules are reconciled to payroll and request payment.
- Onboard new staff on payroll system and communicate with administrators on employee benefits.
- Terminate employees on payroll system and notify employee benefits.
- Extracting of payroll GL reports and importing to financial system.
- Manage leave administration for salaried and wage staff.
- Compiling and submission of EMP 501, Bi-annual and Annual submissions.
- Assist with compiling information for audit purposes.
- Ensure all employee files are updated and meet legislative and audit requirements.
Requirements
- A relevant tertiary qualification or other related qualification.
- Minimum of 5-10 years experience in the HR environment and performing payroll and general HR tasks.
- Manufacturing experience would be preferable but not essential.
- Sound knowledge of Sage People 300 and ESS system.
- Knowledge of Syspro, will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Biometrics systems and reports.
