About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Operations Manager to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily financial activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and driving process improvements to optimize cash flow and cost management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily financial activities including accounts payable, receivable and general ledger
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Manage financial close processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS / GAAP)
- Monitor and improve financial processes and controls
- Optimize cash flow, inventory levels, and receivables/payables cycles
- Monitor debtor collections and manage credit risk
- Drive initiatives to improve cash conversion cycle
- Track cost of goods sold (COGS), distribution, and operational expenses
- Analyze product margins and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Partner with procurement and supply chain to manage costs effectively
- Lead budgeting and rolling forecasts aligned with sales and operations plans
- Provide variance analysis and actionable insights to management
- Support scenario planning in a dynamic FMCG environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Professional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA)
- 5 –10 years of finance experience, ideally within FMCG or manufacturing
- Strong experience in financial operations, reporting, and supply chain finance
- Advanced Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
