Job Description

Hire Resolves client in the Healthcare industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Theatre Scrub/Recovery Nurse in Mthatha, Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain sterile operating theatre environment.
Scrub in and assist the surgical team.
Handle surgical instruments and supplies.
Monitor patient vital signs during surgery.
Adhere to strict infection control protocols.
Provide post-operative patient care in recovery.
Assess and manage patient pain levels.
Educate patients and families on discharge care.
Document patient care accurately.
Collaborate with healthcare team members.
Act as a patient advocate.
Maintain current knowledge of surgical practices.
Ensure patient safety throughout the perioperative period.

Requirements:

Nursing degree/diploma
Registered Nurse (RN) with current and valid registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
Proven experience as a Scrub Nurse and Recovery Nurse in a busy operating theatre environment in South Africa.
Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, and post-operative care principles.
BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
