Overview:
Our client, which has business units in various industries, is seeking a detail-driven accountant to join their finance team. This role reports to the Group Finance Manager and plays a key role in delivering accurate financial information and ensuring robust accounting controls.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric equivalent
- BCom degree, accounting diploma, or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of three years commercial accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and statutory reporting requirements
- Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, trial balances, and bank reconciliations
- Maintain accurate general ledger entries and daily data captures
- Develop cash flow forecasts and analyse revenue and expenditure trends
- Coordinate annual audits and ensure timely submission of statutory returns
- Produce and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses
- Monitor payroll processes, prepare wage summaries, and related reports
- Enforce compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and high standards of financial hygiene
- Provide ad hoc financial support and liaise with management and other departments
