About the Role

A Laundry Officer position is available at a newly established in-patient alcohol and drug rehabilitation centre in Soshanguve, requiring a team player with manual labour skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collecting, sorting, and counting soiled linen from wards.
  • Washing, drying, folding, and ironing linen.
  • Issuing clean linen to wards and departments.
  • Ensuring the laundry area is clean and equipment is maintained.

Requirements

  • A minimum of Grade 10
  • Physically fit to handle manual labour, including lifting heavy bags of laundry, standing for long hours, and loading/unloading heavy-duty machines.
  • Ability to read and write, with basic numerical skills for counting and sorting linen.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and night shifts.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards, particularly infection prevention and control protocols.
  • Familiarity with industrial laundry machines (washers, dryers, ironers).
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
