About the Role

The Finance Manager role at Salix Recruitment is a critical part of delivering consolidated financial information, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic financial decision-making in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for a motivated finance professional who thrives in a leadership role, with a strong understanding of financial reporting standards and tax compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the preparation of accurate and timeous financial information and annual financial statements in line with IFRS
Manage the compilation of monthly trial balances and review balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare and review balance sheet forecasts and budgets
Oversee quarterly and annual regulatory reporting
Oversee the preparation and review of provisional tax calculations
Review year-end tax calculations and tax returns
Ensure compliance across VAT, PAYE, Income Tax and other tax obligations
Oversee debtors, creditors and cashbook functions
Ensure effective credit management and timely collection of receivables
Manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational requirements
Ensure accuracy and completeness of the fixed asset and tax asset registers
Support finance-related projects and process improvements
Manage the payroll function to ensure accuracy and compliance
Ensure correct payments to employees and payroll-related third parties (medical aids, pension funds, SARS, unions, etc.)
Oversee preparation of the salary budget
Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
Manage team performance and support the achievement of business goals

Requirements

Advanced numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
