About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Fitter and Turner to join our production team at Olifantsfontein, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the performance and reliability of our final products.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual machines (e.g., Conventional Lathes)
- Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions, paying close attention to geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Perform in-process and final inspections using a wide range of precision metrology equipment, including micrometres, bore gauges, CMMs, and surface profilometers
- Maintain dimensional accuracy and high-quality surface finishes on all parts
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining or quality issues, making necessary adjustments to offsets and machine parameters
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Fitter and Turner in a high-precision environment
- Expertise in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings
- Proficient with a wide range of precision measuring instruments
- Ability to work with various machinery and tools
- Meticulous, detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Willing to work overtime

- Technical qualification in Fitting and Turning (if applicable)
