About the Role
The COD Controller is responsible for managing and reconciling all Cash on Delivery transactions, ensuring accurate cash collection, payment tracking, reporting, and reconciliation. The role supports financial accuracy, minimizes discrepancies, and ensures timely processing of COD payments between customers, drivers, and the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and reconcile daily Cash on Delivery transactions.
- Verify cash collections received from drivers, couriers, or sales teams.
- Ensure all COD payments are accurately recorded in the system.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between collected cash and recorded sales.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly COD reports.
- Reconcile COD balances against invoices, delivery notes, and customer accounts.
- Follow up on outstanding COD payments and shortages.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with operations, warehouse, drivers, and finance teams regarding COD issues.
- Ensure compliance with company financial procedures and internal controls.
- Assist with audits by providing COD documentation and reports.
- Monitor trends in payment discrepancies and recommend process improvements.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Diploma or qualification in Finance, Accounting, or related field advantageous.
- 23 years experience in finance, accounts receivable, or COD administration.
- Strong numerical and reconciliation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
