About the Role
The Quality Engineer – Automotive role at Profile Personnel is a critical position that requires a highly skilled and experienced professional to ensure the quality of motor vehicle components throughout their life cycle. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing quality programs, testing and evaluating parts, and providing technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and manage the Qualifying Program for new part introduction.
- Implement continuous improvement by identifying the root cause for part deviation from specification and correct the deviation in all phases of the life cycle of the part.
- Test and evaluate the performance of parts according to specification.
- Provide the required Technical Expertise for complete parts in respect of material and function.
- Initiate design improvements for complex problems on parts.
- Initiate local and CKD claims from suppliers.
Requirements
- National Diploma /Degree in Mechanical Engineering /Electrical Engineering /Polymer
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in the manufacturing environment
- In-depth knowledge of applicable motor vehicle parts, their function, applicable specifications, part manufacturing processes and testing methods.
- Sound technical knowledge of motor vehicle components and systems.
- Knowledge and application of Quality Tools e.g. DOE, SPC, FMEA, 8D
- Working knowledge of Pro CKD.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and related specifications.
- Computer literate (Ms Office)
- Valid driver license
- Preparedness for local and overseas travel at short notice
