About the Role
Profile Personnel is seeking two temporary Technical Data Analysts to join their team in Port Elizabeth for an 18-month period. The successful candidates will provide accurate bills of materials (BOMs) for series and pre-series parts, manage engineering changes, and identify and report out-of-line bill of material situations. This role requires strong analytical skills, good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluating the impact of engineering changes on BOMs and providing accurate input into the change management system.
- Converting the Engineering Bill of Material (E/BOM) into a Production Bill of Material (P/BOM).
- Determining timing for the introduction of engineering changes by considering lead plant timing, related changes, supplier lead times, inventory levels, vehicle definitions, and customer requirements.
- Securing continued supply of imported material for production by coordinating the New Components request process.
- Intervening in P/BOMs to prevent line stoppages through the implementation of temporary changes (deviations) to correct errors in usage, PR number, color, and trim combinations as well as effective period.
- Ensuring correct documentation is put in place for permanent correction of temporary intervention.
- Providing accurate BOMs to JIT-, JIS, and kit suppliers on a continuous basis as the vehicle passes through the production process.
- Investigating ad-hoc data queries related to P/BOM to ensure accuracy of the BOM so that parts are delivered timeously to relevant Production areas.
Requirements
- ND/Degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical Engineering or Production Management/Supply Chain Management/Logistics/Information Technology/Data Science.
- At least 3 years of experience gained within the automotive industry in a Logistics environment.
- Working knowledge of Company Group Technical Data/Engineering Change Processes and Engineering Systems and BOM.
- Knowledge of the PEP process.
- Understanding of RPA (Robotic Process Automation).
- Project Management Experience.
- Computer literate, Microsoft Office Package (Word; Excel & PowerPoint/Power BI) SAP.
