About the Role
As an Enrolled Nurse Assistant with Complete Healthcare Services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in their homes or facilities. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver personalized care that meets the unique needs of each patient. This includes caring for adults and children with tracheostomies, elderly patients with dementia, quadriplegic patients with PEG tubes, and palliative patients at the end of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide basic care, including washing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and support with moving and toileting
- Assist with administering medications under supervision of a registered nurse or family member
- Document patient conditions and progress
- Monitor vitals and record changes in patient condition
- Perform basic wound care
- Manage feeds for tracheostomy babies using a feeding pump
- Observe patients’ sleep routines and adjust care plans accordingly
- Write reports in good English
Requirements
- Strong understanding of treatment plans set out by other team members (Doctor, NSM or Physiotherapist)
- Good communication skills with supervisors, colleagues, patients, and family members
- Knowledge of dealing with emergency situations in a patient’s home
- Knowledge of Geriatric Care, Paediatric Care, Dementia Care, Post Stroke Care, Ventilation Care
- Good knowledge of Catheter care (indwelling, supra pubic, intermittent)
- Knowledge of prevention of pressure sores in bedridden patients
- Good knowledge of trachea care or experience working with tracheostomy patients
Qualifications
- Level and Accreditation Diploma as a qualified Enrolled Nurse
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
