About the Role
A leading manufacturing organisation is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cost Accountant/Financial Analyst to take full ownership of the production costing function, join their financial team, and drive reporting, cost control, and financial insights. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial analysis to support business performance and provide actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for running the complete cost accounting and financial analysis function in our high-volume brick manufacturing plant
- Deliver financial/cost analysis to support business performance
- Interpret results to provide actionable insights
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities, as well as operational efficiencies
- Prepare business valuations and financial modelling
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Build financial reports that give clear business insights
- Finalise and report on monthly costing reports
- Collate, analyse, and report on vehicle fleet costs
- Assist with inter-company cost allocation and reconciliation
- Evaluate and implement internal controls to shift towards digitisation of finance operations
Requirements
- BCom Accounting/Management Accounting or Finance Degree
- Completed SAICA/SAIPA or CIMA articles
- Minimum 5 years post-articles experience in manufacturing/production costing
- Professional designation (e.g., AGA(SA), PA(SA), CA(SA) or CGMA)
- Strong proven experience in financial analysis, not only financial reporting
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and adhere to strict deadlines
- Fluent Afrikaans speaker (essential for effective communication with operational and management teams)
