About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished Managing Director/General Manager to lead our growing technical services business, driving sustainable growth and profitability while ensuring exceptional service excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen, solid financial and operational management capability, and a proven track record in leading high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction, reporting to the Board and shareholders
- Develop and execute business strategies to drive sustainable growth and profitability
- Oversee full operational performance across technical service delivery functions
- Drive revenue growth while identifying efficiencies to optimise cost and margin
- Lead, manage, and develop senior leadership and operational teams
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Ensure service excellence and compliance with contractual service level agreements
- Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and revenue targets
- Implement and drive effective marketing and business development initiatives
- Present monthly operational and financial reports to the Board
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, quality, and employee well-being
Requirements
- Proven track record in leading a business or significant business unit at senior level
- Strong commercial acumen with solid financial and operational management capability
- Experience in a technical services, engineering, facilities, HVAC, refrigeration, or related service environment would be advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage operational complexity
- Strong stakeholder management experience, including engagement with corporate and blue-chip clients
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline
- Postgraduate qualification (MBA / Honours / Masters) will be highly advantageous
