About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Manager to join our team at Farm Manager SA, responsible for overseeing drone crop spraying, cropping, and livestock management on our Vaalwater farm.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise planting process and spraying with remote-controlled drone
- Maintain and ensure the good condition of planting equipment and poison spray
- Conduct harvesting in person using JD Harvester
- Gradually take on cattle farming responsibilities
- Perform any other duties as required
Requirements
- Agricultural Diploma/Degree
- Remote Pilots Licence
- Minimum 3 years of farming experience
- Previous experience with drone crop spraying, cropping (maize, soya & sugar beans), and livestock (cattle)
- Computer literate
- Ability to work independently and proactively, taking ownership of tasks and coming up with new ideas
- Mechanically and maintenance orientated
- Ability to motivate staff and work with them effectively
- Valid driver’s license
