About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Mining Technical Services Manager to join our leading mining organisation based in Zimbabwe. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underground mine planning, with a focus on narrow reef mines. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing production quality, safety, health and environmental cost targets, while also ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage production quality, safety, health and environmental cost targets
- Proactive management of reputational, operational and legal risk
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, key, risk and compliance
- External and internal stakeholder engagement
- Manage sub-contractors / suppliers and ensure they deliver on sla’s
- Involved in long and short range financial objectives for the mine
- Prepare and manage capex and opex budgets
- Prepare financial reports
- Carry out mine plan optimization runs
- Maintenance of company assets
- Achievement of operational objectives and metrics including detailed safety records
- Development and management of block and grade control Models in line with company’s mineral resource cycles mine design
- Management of grade delivered
- Manage mine plans and operations
- Manage stockpiling and disposal of ore
- Development and maintenance of department work instructions and sop register
- Train and develop all employees
- Manage all core process risks
- Ensure compliance to mine specific standards and statutory requirements
- Provide sound team leadership – mentoring, supervising and driving adherence to company policies
- Retention and employee wellness and er/or functions
Requirements
- BSc in Mining or related field (preference for Zimbabweans)
- Narrow reef underground mine planning experience
- 8 years of underground gold mining experience
- Project management experience
- Proficient in mine planning software
