About the Role

Network International is seeking a skilled and experienced Chemical Procurement professional to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing chemical ordering, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and providing expert guidance on chemical selection and application.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage chemical ordering in line with operational requirements
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers
  • Maintain optimal stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking
  • Ensure correct storage and handling in accordance with safety standards
  • Provide expert guidance on chemical selection and application
  • Develop and review chemical specifications
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges related to chemical usage
  • Train staff on the correct handling, application, and safety procedures
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
  • Maintain and update Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Oversee the safe storage and disposal of chemicals
  • Conduct periodic safety audits and risk assessments
  • Monitor chemical performance and effectiveness
  • Conduct quality testing where required
  • Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • 3–5 years’ relevant industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of chemical safety, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements
  • Experience in procurement and supplier management will be advantageous
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
