About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client is urgently seeking the expertise of a Senior Mechanical Draughtsman in Alberton, GP. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical drafting and design support to various projects, ensuring that all drawings meet the required standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Admin
- Timesheet Management: Create a new timesheet for the department at the beginning of each new year, ensuring it is fully operational.
- Managing Drawing Office Staff regarding Timesheet admin.
- Filling: File all relevant hard copy and electronic documentation in correct files and folders as received. Worktables must be clear of unnecessary paperwork and drawings.
- Drawing Office Assistance: Assist fellow drawing office staff with any technical or draughting queries they might have.
- Follow Up on work Progress
- Checking of drawings / Models
- Ensuring all latest information is saved in the relevant folders
- Understanding and using Vault database
- Draughting
- Refurb Projects
- Onsite Measuring: Measure existing components to reverse-engineer them for modelling and interference checking purposes.
- Different measuring equipment, especially complicated and high accuracy components, will be used.
- This requires the draftsman to sometimes go to sites and NCPs workshops to measure.
- 3D Modelling & Detailing: Experience in inventor and CAD is required. Existing components must be modelled from measurements and new components created to fit existing components.
- Components that require modification and new components must be detailed out for manufacturing.
- Communicating with Project- and Design Engineers
- Interface Checking: Check for clashes between existing and new components, ensuring a perfect fit according to NCP standard.
- Doing layouts for design review meetings and client-based information only drawings.
- Completing parts list on all assembly drawings
- Squad Check: All drawings must be placed on squad check. The draftsman has a responsibility to check their own drawings and ensure they meet NCP Standard.
