About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Benoni, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions and reconcile bank statements.
- Prepare and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process supplier invoices, payments, and customer receipts accurately and timeously.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts up to trial balance.
- Perform monthly reconciliations for creditors, debtors, petty cash, and bank accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
- Capture and maintain accurate financial data within the accounting system.
- Manage the company’s budget, including preparing budget reports and monitoring spending.
- Monitor cash flow and report on any discrepancies or financial concerns.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and relevant accounting regulations.
- Maintain organised financial records and filing systems for audit purposes.
- Liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal departments regarding account queries and payments.
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial processes and systems.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and administrative support documentation as required by management.
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Bookkeeping, Finance, or a related field
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role (up to Trail-Balance)
- Valid Driver’s License (Essential)
