Job Summary
Responsible for the front-of-house operations and provide leadership to staff, maintain lodge facilities, pay attention to details and provide a level of hospitality which meet the company’s and exceeds guest expectations.
Quality checks, logistical planning, guest relations, staff rosters as well as budgeting, cost control.
Prepare monthly reports for the Directors.
Take a leading role in the front of house team supported by the Hosts & Reservations, Social Media Coordinator & Safari Guide Supervisor.
Managing team consists of Operations Manager, Maintenance Manager, Camp Operations Manager, Safari & Camp Manager.
Provide welcoming environment for guests & high standard of service
Maintain smooth Lodge operations & provide leadership to staff
Attention to detail & created a personalized experience
Hand-on approach for the daily operations & guest relations
F&B management, menu planning, kitchen supervision attention to meal presentation
Stock cost & quantity control (kitchens, housekeeping & daily bar stock)
Monthly consumption/cost reports
Liaise with guests for special dietary requirements
Ensure standards are met in regard to hygiene, health & safety regulations
Budged planning and identifying area of improvement (prepare plan & budget for approval)
Liaise with reservations & knowledge of booking systems
Logistical planning of guest movements (rooming & activities)
Guide allocations
Manage safaris guides, motivate high achievements (in-house & on safari)
Assisting with marketing & agent fam trips
Liaise with Bush Camp Managers on all operational issues
Implement stock & cost control system for the Bush Camps
Requirements:
Grade 12 / high school Diploma
A minimum of 5 years’ experience as Lodge Manager
Diploma or Degree in Hospitality or Management
Customer Service: Professional & friendly
Management: Strong team leader & highly organized
Communication: Excellent verbal & written communication
Financial: Good financial planning & control
Decision Making: Confident decision making, adapt to changing situations
Advanced computer skills & familiar with operating systems
