Job Description

Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Control Room Agent / Fleet Controller to join our operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring fleet movements, coordinating drivers, managing operational communication, and ensuring the efficient execution of daily transport activities. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Monitor vehicle movements and driver activities using fleet tracking systems. Coordinate and communicate with drivers regarding routes, schedules, and operational requirements. Respond promptly to incidents, delays, breakdowns, and emergencies. Ensure compliance with company policies, transport regulations, and safety procedures. Maintain accurate records of vehicle locations, trips, incidents, and operational activities. Liaise with customers, drivers, and management to ensure service delivery standards are met. Investigate route deviations and unauthorized stops. Prepare operational reports and provide updates to management. Assist with route planning and fleet scheduling when required. Monitor fuel usage, driver performance, and vehicle utilization. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Matric). Previous experience in a Control Room, Fleet Control, Logistics, Transport, or Operations environment. Experience working with vehicle tracking and fleet management systems. Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays if required. Own reliable transport will be advantageous. Skills & Competencies Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Strong organizational and administrative skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure. Professional telephone etiquette. Team player with a proactive approach to work.
