About the Role

As a Trust & Investment Bookkeeper in Bloemfontein, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of trust accounts, maximising revenue through analysis and optimisation, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. You will work closely with practitioners, banks, and regulators to resolve queries and improve trust account performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trust Interest Revenue Maximise trust interest through analysis, monitoring, and optimisation of accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with Sections 86(2), 86(3), and 86(4).
  • Resolve practitioner queries and promote revenue optimisation initiatives.
  • Monitor trust account performance, balances, and trends.
  • Oversee automated transfer systems and maintain relevant registers.
  • Track and manage unclaimed trust monies .
  • Support compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Build and manage relationships with practitioners, banks, and regulators.
  • Act as liaison to resolve queries and improve trust account performance.
  • Identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Report on performance, trends, and value generated.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or Law .
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a business development, legal bookkeeping, or financial services environment .
  • Strong understanding of trust accounts, trust interest, and banking products within a legal framework .
  • Proven ability to analyse financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Valid Code 8 drivers licence.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail with a structured and analytical approach to work.
