Job Summary
Hire Resolve`s Client is seeking to hire a Production Planner to join their team in Boksburg. The Production Planner is responsible for developing, monitoring, and optimizing production schedules to ensure the efficient and timely manufacturing of products. The role requires close coordination with various departments, including procurement, production, and logistics, to ensure customer orders are fulfilled within deadlines while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.

Responsibilities:
- Production Scheduling:
- Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders and inventory levels.
- Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand, equipment breakdowns, or material shortages.
- Material Planning:
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure the availability of raw materials for uninterrupted production.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast material requirements to minimize overstocking or shortages.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Liaise with production managers, supervisors, and team leaders to ensure schedules are understood and followed.
- Communicate with the sales and logistics teams regarding delivery timelines and order status.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Track production progress and ensure targets are met in terms of output, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks or delays by working with cross-functional teams.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvements.
- Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, capacity utilization, and schedule adherence.
- Compliance and Optimization:
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and company policies.
- Optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in production planning or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in packaging or related industries is an advantage.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
- Excellent knowledge of inventory management and supply chain principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Additional
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or other efficiency methodologies is advantageous.
- Willingness to work extended hours when necessary to meet production deadlines.
