About the Role
Join our team as a Technical Writer in Boksburg, where you will be responsible for developing and writing technical documentation for hard rock mining equipment. With a strong understanding of best practices for technical writing, you will create detailed descriptions of equipment function, operation, maintenance, and repair. This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and write technical documentation for hard rock mining equipment manuals, briefs, instruction books, catalogues, and other related documents.
- Utilize 3D CAD programs to create illustrations for manuals.
- Collaborate with production and engineering personnel to gather information on product technologies and production methods.
- Review and publish documents according to set standards regarding configuration, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of best practices for technical writing, including structured documentation.
- Knowledge of Word, DITA XML is beneficial.
- Utilize 3D CAD programs to create illustrations for manuals.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of 3D animation, graphic design principles, HTML/programming, database functions are all beneficial.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings with ability to read and interpret equipment schematics.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or Matric Technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields is an advantage.
