Bryanston: Finance and Accounting Intern

Job Description

Job Purpose The Finance Intern will support the Finance team with day-to-day financial and administrative tasks while gaining hands-on exposure to core finance functions. This role is ideal for a motivated individual who can manage multiple tasks, is detail-oriented, and demonstrates a strong willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with daily finance operations including data capturing, reconciliations, and filing Support the preparation of invoices, payments, and expense reports Assist with capturing financial transactions into accounting systems Help with basic bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance Support month-end and year-end processes as required Assist with compiling financial reports and schedules Perform ad-hoc administrative and finance-related tasks Liaise with internal departments to obtain financial information Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation Assist with compilation of financial statements Work closely with finance and management on real deliverables Support procurement and supplier management processes Assist with preparing pricing information under supervision Assist with payroll/admin systems where required Work on accounting systems (e.g. Xero) and related tools Coordinate with suppliers, service providers, and internal teams Take ownership of small tasks/projects and follow through to completion Manage tasks effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Key Competencies & Skills Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively Strong willingness to learn and take initiative Good attention to detail and accuracy Basic understanding of financial principles Strong organisational and time-management skills Good communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Ability to work independently and as part of a team Minimum Requirements Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field Basic knowledge of accounting principles At least one year of experience in a finance or accounting role Personal Attributes Eager to learn and open to feedback Proactive and reliable Positive attitude with a strong work ethic Able to adapt in a dynamic work environment Self-starter
