About the Role

The Head of Systems, Software and IT is a hands-on, delivery-focused operational role responsible for leading the IT function across all entities of a leading Energy Group. The role reports to the Chief Investment Officer and Group CFO, with a focus on execution, ownership, pace, and reliability in ensuring systems work in practice, are adopted by teams, and continuously improve business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Own the day-to-day performance, stability, and continuous improvement of the Company’s systems landscape.
Translate agreed business priorities into clear, executable systems plans and delivery backlogs.
Take practical ownership of system configurations, enhancements, fixes, and improvements.
Ensure systems are scalable and robust through implementation discipline, not abstract architecture.
Identify pragmatic opportunities for automation and AI enablement that deliver tangible operational or financial benefit.

Requirements

Strong technical expertise in IT systems, software development, and project management.
Proven experience in leading IT teams and managing complex system implementations.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive decisively and take full accountability for systems delivery.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with Finance leadership and external vendors.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in IT system development, implementation, and management.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central, Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate), CRM systems, and billing/revenue management systems.

Salary & Benefits

R800k to R1M Per Annum (Negotiable on qualification & experience).
