About the Role
Our client, a well-established leader within the Destination Management and Travel sector, is seeking a highly experienced Learning and Development Specialist to take full ownership of training, skills development, and SETA compliance across the business. The ideal candidate will be a structured, hands-on L&D professional with strong SDF experience and essential Tourplan NX exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate monthly induction and internal systems training, including Tourplan NX (essential)
- Design, develop, and deliver training programmes across all staff levels
- Create engaging training material and online learning content (videos, surveys, questionnaires, etc.)
- Promote participation in online training initiatives
- Evaluate and report on training outcomes to Human Capital and Department Heads
- Schedule and coordinate internal and external training interventions
- Facilitate workshops and internal training sessions
- Manage supplier training coordination
- Conduct training across regional and global offices (Cape Town, East Africa, etc.)
- Manage bursary programmes
- Drive change management by updating training in line with process changes
- Implement and track personal development plans for staff
- Act as the Skills Development Facilitator and liaison with SETA
- Compile and submit Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report
- Manage tranche payments and SETA reporting
- Submit discretionary and mandatory grant applications
- Manage internships and bursary SETA processes
- Prepare all required documentation, logbooks, and reports
- Advise Human Capital leadership on SETA quality standards and compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma with 5–7 years’ Training & Development experience
- 3–5 years’ experience as a Skills Development Facilitator
- Accredited Facilitator, Assessor, Moderator, and SDF accreditation (essential)
- ODETDP qualification advantageous
- Strong LMS experience
- Tourplan NX experience is ESSENTIAL
