About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Health Worker to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our research study, you will be responsible for recruiting, screening, and consenting participants, as well as providing education and support throughout the study process.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment, screening, and consenting of study participants
Retention and follow-up of study participants (to attend appointments)
Ensuring participants take medication at prescribed times
Home visits to participants who default their appointments
Keeping Registered Nurse informed of participants and reporting any irregularities
Data Collection and administrative duties – questionnaires, data entry and verification
Maintaining database of participant information and completing participant progress reports as required
Providing education and support to participants during the screening process
Educating participants on research, TB/HIV, and adherence

Requirements

Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate or Equivalent Experience in the healthcare environment with sound knowledge of recruiting
Knowledge of Medical Terminology especially TB and HIV
Confidentiality
Detail orientated
Must be able to work as part of a team
Able to work overtime to ensure participant safety and maintain the integrity of research studies
Flexible, able, and willing to make changes in work schedule to meet the demands of the company
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
Fluency in English and another South African Language
General Computer Literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and Internet; Data Management Systems advantageous)
Good interpersonal, communication, and time management skills

Qualifications

Must possess a positive and professional attitude, with a customer centric outlook
Credit and Criminal Clear
