About the Role
Takora is seeking an experienced Intermediate Electrical Engineer/Technologist to join their team in Cape Town City Centre. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and consulting services, with excellent technical skills and a valid driver’s license.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop building services electrical systems, including lighting, power, and distribution boards (DBs)
- Develop and implement electrical design plans using AutoCAD & Revit draughting software
- Conduct site visits and meetings to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Collaborate with clients to understand their electrical needs and provide solutions
- Maintain knowledge of Relux or Dialux software for lighting designs
- Develop and maintain expertise in 11kV and 400V reticulation, generator, and UPS systems
- Design and implement solar PV systems for building-mounted installations
Requirements
- Bachelor of Technology Degree or Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist
- At least 5 years of experience in the consulting engineering industry
- Proficient use of AutoCAD & Revit draughting software
- Knowledge of Relux or Dialux software for lighting designs
- Experience in building services electrical design (lighting, power, and DBs)
- Experience in 11kV and 400V reticulation
- Experience in generator and UPS systems
- Knowledge of Solar PV systems – mainly for building-mounted installations
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- Own transport
