About the Role
The Night Auditor is a critical role that ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions, while also maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit all daily revenue reports to ensure accurate income accounting.
- Verify actual departure reports and scrutinize guest checkout folios for discrepancies.
- Scrutinise front office allowances, rebates, discounts, paid outs, and room transfers for correctness.
- Reconcile credit card transactions processed through electronic data capture and batch close the system.
- Reconcile promotion/loyalty programs, charge slips with guest departure folios.
- Monitor correct documentation of all transactions by Front Office associates.
- Prepare and process reports such as Daily Handover and Financial Reports.
- Adhere to organisational policies and regulations.
- Assist in Front Office Operations/Systems as required.
- Balance Food and Beverage pre-lists and report discrepancies to the Front of House and Accounts Manager.
- Report major operational matters to the Accounts Manager.
- Monitor and ensure all other outlets are performing during the night (Housekeeping, In Room Dining, Stewarding, Security).
- Anticipate possible hazards and conditions, correct or prevent them from happening.
- Maintain highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language, and conduct.
Requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate
- At least 2-3 years in a similar position in comparable hotels
