Job Summary
Key Responsibilities – Evaluate MRP requirements and propose optimal supply solutions to the business. – Schedule jobs in accordance with business requirements with MRP and considering the production schedule and procurement lead times. – Coordinate and identify long lead time items and mitigate any bottlenecks caused by the long lead time items. – Plan and implement the material planning for all electrical items. – Prepare procurement data packs with the help of the project managers to ensure materials are delivered timeously. – Coordinate and assist in managing external suppliers builds of electrical equipment. – Identify and expedite critical items through the supply chain. – Verify resource availability (material, equipment) required for production to deliver, ensuring optimal inventory levels are kept to a desired level. – Promptly address and resolve production issues to minimize delays in production. – Monitor and drive required changes to production schedules to ensure that deadlines are met. – Promptly informing relevant departments of any changes that affects the current production schedules (Drawings and design changes) – Participate in the development and implementation of an improved ERP system. Qualifications and Experience – Diploma (advantageous) or relevant experience in the supply chain and production environment, either as a production planner or relevant field – 5 years experience as a production planner. – Must have own transport – Must be proficient in all MS applications – Must have sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and ERP related software. – Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
